Our SDU Women's Team Finished 5th in Europe at the European University Games Table Tennis Championship.

Our SDU Women's Team, representing our university and country, finished 5th in Europe at the European University Games Table Tennis Championship held in Debrecen, Hungary, from July 18-25, 2024. Competing against 16 different European universities, the team achieved a commendable 5th place. The doubles team, consisting of our faculty students Ayşegül IŞIK and Elifnil AYAZ, also secured 5th place in Europe.

Faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olcay SALİCİ and Research Assistant Murat ÇİMEN, who were part of the technical team, emphasized that this first-time participation in the tournament provided significant experience for future tournaments and highlighted the promotion of our university both in Europe and nationally.

Additionally, they expressed gratitude to the SDU Rectorate for their financial and moral support, which enabled the team, who earned the right to participate by achieving a top ranking in Turkey, to join the tournament.
