The Faculty of Sports Sciences Participated in the Honorary Doctorate Ceremony for National Athlete Yusuf Dikeç

Our Faculty of Sports Sciences participated in the honorary doctorate ceremony for national athlete Yusuf Dikeç, who has brought significant success to our country on the international stage. This meaningful honor, awarded for his contributions to Turkish sports and exemplary sportsmanship, marked one of the most special moments in Dikeç's career.

Following the ceremony, a talk titled "Hitting the Bullseye of Success" was held, moderated by our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kubilay Türkay. In the talk, Yusuf Dikeç emphasized the importance of valuing time and hard work with the following words:
"I had five world championships and four European championships, but none of them garnered as much attention as this. This is the highest point an athlete can reach. We prepared very well for the competition. An athlete must truly work hard. When going to a competition, they must also rely on their fate, luck, and fortune. We actually broke records to reach the finals, but in the final, luck just wasn’t on our side, and we returned with a silver medal. But we won’t give up and will keep working until 2028. Please don’t waste your time. Whatever you do, work hard.”

The talk continued with active participation from students and featured unforgettable moments, including Dikeç's iconic pose. Our faculty has once again proudly fulfilled its duty of gratitude to our national heroes.
