The November 10th Atatürk Memorial Table Tennis Cup Concluded Successfully
The November 10th Atatürk Memorial Table Tennis Cup, organized in memory of the Great Leader Atatürk, was successfully held on November 10th at the Atatürk Sports Hall with the participation of students, academics, and administrative staff. The organizing team included our Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kumartaşlı and Assoc. Prof. Olcay Salici, Research Assistants Murat Çimen, Didem Yazar, and Serkan Dağlı, along with our alumni Nazik Özdemir, Ayşenur Bilirgen, Merve Çırak, and Physical Education and Sports Teaching student Şerife Nur Gürbüz.
In the women’s category, awards were presented by our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Nihat Ayyıldız. Aylin Göral won first place, Nihal Kutsal came in second, Burcu Yaman took third, and Emine Yeşil placed fourth. In the men’s category, Burak Korkmaz won first place, followed by Kerem Önal in second, Ertuğrul Metin in third, and Javad Daşdemirov in fourth. The awards for the men’s category were presented by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kumartaşlı, Assoc. Prof. Olcay Salici, Faculty Secretary Nihal Kutsal, and Research Assistant Murat Çimen.
This meaningful tournament was organized to honor the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and to commemorate his ideals. November 10th serves not only as a day of remembrance but also as an occasion to keep alive Atatürk's visionary ideals of independence and the republic, passing them on to future generations. Students, academics, administrative staff, and alumni participating in the tournament held a unified and supportive event in Atatürk's spirit, recalling his appreciation of sport's unifying power in society. On this occasion, we once again remember the founder of our Republic with respect, gratitude, and longing.
