Coordination Meeting Held with the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports Regarding the Planning of Workplace-Based Vocational Training (İŞME) Processes
A coordination meeting was held with the Süleyman Demirel University (SDU) Department of Health, Culture, and Sports (SKS) to plan the implementation processes aimed at enhancing the professional knowledge, skills, and experience of students from the Coaching Education and Sports Management departments of the Faculty of Sports Sciences within the scope of the Workplace-Based Vocational Training (İŞME) course.
During the meeting held with Gültaze Gül, Head of the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, discussions focused on identifying the students who would undergo their vocational training at the department, planning the units to which they would be assigned, and ensuring the coordinated execution of the implementation process.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the definition of the duties and responsibilities students would assume in their assigned units, ensuring their participation in professional activities aligned with the units' operational areas, the regular monitoring of the work performed by students during the training period, and the assignment of tasks by the relevant units that would foster professional experience.
To ensure the effective and efficient conduct of the İŞME process, emphasis was placed on student-unit matching, the designation of responsible personnel, task distribution, the tracking of attendance and work processes, the monitoring of practical activities, student performance evaluation, and the maintenance of coordination between the faculty and the SKS Department. The importance of students engaging in practices that allow them to develop their professional knowledge and skills—not merely as observers but through active participation in the operational processes of their assigned units—was highlighted. Furthermore, views were exchanged regarding ensuring that the tasks assigned to students within the relevant units of the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports (SKS) align with their departmental and field-specific competencies, that the activities are monitored by responsible personnel, and that feedback concerning the students' professional development is provided regularly.
The meeting aims to contribute to integrating the university's practical opportunities with educational processes, enabling students to experience professional life and institutional operations firsthand, and ensuring that work-based learning (İŞME) practices are conducted within a more systematic and sustainable framework.
