SPORTS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN BY STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF SPORTS SCIENCES AT SÜLEYMAN DEMİREL UNIVERSITY

Second-year students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Süleyman Demirel University (SDÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences organized a sports and educational activity program for children as part of their "Community Service Practices" course.
The program, held at the football field on the Süleyman Demirel University West Campus, was attended by 34 children—boys and girls aged 7 to 13—residing in the Orkide, Erkam, Günebakan, Efeler Huzur, and Başak children’s homes, which operate under the Isparta Şehit Enes Özgül Children’s Homes Coordination Center. The children were accompanied by their supervising teachers and care staff.
Designed to support the children’s physical, social, and emotional development, while ensuring they enjoyed their time engaging with sports and enhancing their social interactions, the event featured educational games, clown performances, various competitions, and face painting. With a focus on the children’s interests and active participation, the program aimed to foster values such as sharing, solidarity, cooperation, and working together through fun-filled activities.
At the conclusion of the program, the student project team gifted sweatshirts to the children as a memento of the day. The initiative not only brought joy to the children and created a meaningful memory, but also played a significant role in developing the university students' sense of social awareness and social responsibility. Carried out with a commitment to social contribution and social responsibility, the event helped strengthen the interaction between the university and the community, while also supporting children’s participation in sporting, educational, and social activities.
